Apple Annie's came into being in March, 2001, as the fulfillment of the Sid and Linda Walton's vision of providing a tranquil place for guests to step out of life's fast lane and into a time of restful retreat, renewal, regeneration and re-creation. The vision was born of understanding that today's world can be very stressful and demanding. By stepping back and spending time refueling their spirit, people are better able to return to their daily tasks and to enjoy a higher quality of life. After living in Dallas and Arlington for many years, the Waltons initiated a search for the perfect location for a peaceful environment that would provide a tranquil site for Apple Annie's. The natural beauty of the Piney Woods and the friendly, hospitable environment of historic Palestine offered a perfect fit. The delightful turn of the century historic homes of Palestine provided an even greater incentive to create Apple Annie's in East Texas. The Waltons spent their corporate work years in the healthcare and aerospace industries. Linda was a hospital clinical laboratory director and later, a diagnostic sales specialist. Sid spent many years in the aerospace industry with General Dynamics and 25 years with Bell Helicopter Textron. He sometimes misses working in helicopter manufacturing, but he never misses living in any large city's flight patterns. The joy of meeting the many interesting and delightful B & B guests provides the Waltons with a life of opportunity and fulfillment. "Come share our tranquility in the beautiful Piney Woods where the only rush hour is the equivalent of one cycle of a traffic light." Sid and Linda Walton
